Project awarded funding from First Batch of “Research, Academic and Industry Sectors One-plus (RAISe+) Scheme” by the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Government

Led by Prof. Chen Guanghao of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the project titled “Reducing Biological Landfill Leachate Treatment Footprint via Rapid Electrochemical-UV Technologies” received close to HK$6.7 million for a period of two and a half years.

SANI Technology Wins 2018 Project Innovation Award of International Water Association

A team from Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at HKUST was awarded a LEKO Low-carbon Technical Award for the technology Low Energy Electrical Odour control of sludge (LEEO) at the 2018 TECO Technological Innovation Contest on 22 August 2018.

The Third Award in the grand final of the HKUST One Million Dollar International Entrepreneurship Competition

A team from HKUST’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering struck gold at the 2017 TECO Technological Innovation Contest for the technology “an innovative and energy efficient approach to produce bioactive sulfated polysaccharides from waste”. 

School of Engineering (SENG) members have achieved outstanding results in the 7th Annual HKUST One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition, with five out of six winning teams included SENG students or alumni. The Exhibition Award went to InnoWat, which offers wastewater treatment plants a one-stop solution, from design consultancy to specialized equipment installation.
